Monarch Model 60/61, 20/22.5" Swing, 72" C to C, Spindle Gear Issues, (Charlotte, NC)
I'm acquiring a Monarch 60/61 series lathe as part of a group of lathes that I'm buying, and would like to see it go to a good home instead of being parted and scrapped, so I'll try in this section first. It's a November 1950 build date, serial number 35130. 20" catalog swing, 22.5" actual swing. 72" center to center. Nice old iron. I have not had much time to inspect it, as I was more interested in the other lathes. I know it runs and generally works, but two of the four spindle speed change gear handles are missing, so I assume the gears are messed up for those ranges. I will get better info next week when I pick it up.
Price is $1200 obo, trades considered, quick change tool post not included.
I can deliver in the west Charlotte/Gaston County area for free if you have a way to unload it from a trailer, and of course local pickup is welcome. Estimated weight is 7000lbs.
