All I can figure is the middle section of sheet metal got lost somehow and previous owners plastered the nearest piece of plywood to cover that area ??

Also possible that it's to keep the print displayed. Several shops I've worked at attached something near/to the machines for that purpose. It's your story.

Ever since you showed the world your "fancy" speed and materials guide these types of "covers" have been appearing on Do-ALL saws around the globe.

Hell, my saw even has one now! I'm too ashamed to admit I only have one speed dial.... :bawling:
