I am looking for a LightMachines CNC mill or something compariable. I am working with mostly brass and needing to hold tolerances within .01mm

the work is small sized ( less than 25mm) and small quantities. I am limited to under $3k

.01mm is a *very* tight tolerance for a low end machine such as a LightMachines mill. Heck, .01mm is a tight tolerance for many higher end machines. Sounds like you've got aerospace requirements and a home shop budget.

.1mm is a more realistic tolerance envelope for a benchtop machine or a 3k budget.

Now, sure as I type this, someone will reply that their homebuilt CNC holds .0002" all day long...

would you be interested in a Terco mill?
I know a guy who has 3-4 of them less the controllers. about the same size.
spindle takes MT1 collets, 90Vdc spindle motor. steppers on all the axis.
You could build a controller and power supply with all the bells and whistles for well under 3k. email me if interested- i do not want to post contact info on an open forum.
