Hello, just talked to a tech at makino on what type of oil to use in our cnc 128 for the spindle, he stressed that makino, makino, makino spindle oil was the only kind to use due to it running through a chiller. Can I get a amen on that or is there a U.S. oil that will due. He said it was a mobil oil but that mobil here in the states will not add the proper heat carrying ingerdents that the makino oil sold overseas has in it. Thanks, Jon

Our Okuma lathe uses Mobil Velocite Oil No.3 for the headstock chillers and our new Makino mill uses the same thing...

Thanks Lawrenze, I just finished googling and Mobil velocite # 3 was what I came up with too. I dig a little more before I order a barrell but thank you again. Jon

Just got a 1997 Makino A77 in and wanted to see if there was any update on this before we buy $800 worth of Makino Spindle oil. The Velocite #3 is about $300 shipped. Any assistance is greatly appreciated(I know is is a super old thread!)
