dstryr, did you have an A55 tool changer fail? Ours have never missed a beat and they are on 8 pallet pools so they hardly ever shut down. They run smaller short cycle high tool change parts too. They must be going on 15 years old now.
I'd be interested in hearing what the failure was (bearing, bent shaft, worn chain, ect.) if you can recall.

I meant was it is awesome to have overbuilt as i have other brand machines that had issues with tool changes.

Agreed, there used to be some real crappy tool changers out there. There may still be but we don't have any anymore. You cound rebuild some of those cheap POS types when the broke and they never would quite work the same ever again. They would still change tools but they always seemed to pick up a slight hesitation or a little jerkyness.
The changer in the pics looks like it could go for long time yet...
