I'm sure this will be gone soon, but I'll chime in anyway. I don't think he is the most annoying person I have seen. What he has is an unbelievable combination of a basic irritating nature and extreme proliferation. I think he replies to pretty much every thread in every section except CNC, which is our last respite.

I remember when he left after he go upset about the forum software updates. That was a nice break.

I've been on internet forums since about 1995. He's the first person I've ever asked to be banned.

Well I can't agree with you John ... I think you need to look into a Northern European PM member first!

    hahahahahah, what!!

Man... if you don't want to be annoyed on internet forums: don't read *anything* with politics, sports, or religion as the topic. many forums ban these topics entirely, rather than banning members who are fully capable of driving each other crazy in these topics with strongly conflicting opinions, who might otherwise get along just fine in vocational/technical/creative discourse.

in the meantime, there's the ignore function if it's that bad... or just avoid the subforum.

Won't he just change his handle to something like 'Thermite' in a few months anyway?

By the way John, I thought he was giving you kudos in one thread just recently. What did he do now?

    Best Regards,
    Bob

I'd like to change my vote, to "ban the actual 'Manufacturing in America and Europe' subforum entirely"

it's basically just an endless, america victim of the world bitchfest, and why can't we ever make america great again with ancient techniques, right?

Not until John ups his reading skills of WORDS to where he can differentiate between a kettle, an oil-drum, and a "F**tard" it ain't..

Winding up John is waaay more fun than Gordon. John ain't yet set in cement, now and then does something not entirely predictable - even interesting.

    Hmmm,

Seems to me the problem starts when the moderator lets certain people post topics with a decidedly political slant. Then people weigh in with various viewpoints and discussion gets lively. Now a guy who seems to support one viewpoint wants to ban someone whose viewpoint he disagrees with who may often be a bit verbose BUT is also very effective at expressing that opposing viewpoint.

    You don't wind me up.

You've never said anything interesting. You just want to type words because you like to listen to yourself.

Let's chip in and get him the services of a speech therapist.

    I'd vote for that.

If it actually came to pass, I'd even commit to cutting my post-per-day count.

And by a LOT, not just a little bit.

    What say ye?

Bound to be far the better deal-brokers here than at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, no?

    Totally agree.

In this case though, it's justified.

At least some people on here like me and like my posts. Only a few complete idiots like Bill. I doubt anyone actually likes his posts.

    Completely wrong.

I don't even know what Bill's viewpoints are. I can't understand his verbal diarrhea. He just posts page after page of garbage. He's not here to have a debate with people. He's here to type words and listen to himself talk.

I disagree with you 98% of the time. I don't want you banned.

John? If every post of both of us that earned a PM "like" was disqualified for containing the the EFF-word.. would you still have a higher count?

You cater to fools. Their approbation is your very sustenance.

I do not choose to whore myself in that manner.

Not that I overmuch care, but one 'like' on average every third or fourth post is .. surprising, actually.

What DOES matter is that mine are coming from independently minded folk who not only HAVE a brain. They actually utilize it.

Quite often to disagree, but that is most welcome, too.

    Both of us learn.

It has nothing to do with viewpoints.

It's that Bill likes to spam the place with verbal diarrhea. He doesn't even have the courtesy to write in a way that people might be able to understand. It's not because Bill is Bill and he's doing his best. He choses to write in the way he does.
