They've gotten a lot calmer lately.. Did you notice all the nice facial recognition cameras?? They already
know who you are when you pull up.. They have them going south bound also..

7,8,9,10 years ago it was a F'n pain in the ass.. They would back the highway up 45 minutes.. I'd get in argument
with them at least once a week..

The worst one I've had in the past 4 years... Pull up,

Mr. McTinyPenisCantGetaJobAsARealCop: "where are you coming from?"
Me: (leaning out the window, pointing backwards) "That-A-Way, you just saw me pull in!!!"
Mr. McTinyPenisCantGetaJobAsARealCop: "Let me guess(pointing forwards) and you're going that-a-way"
Me: Hey!!! You're pretty fucking smart.
Mr. McTinyPenisCantGetaJobAsARealCop: "get out of here"

And he called me an asshole as I was pulling away..

    One of my favorites..

BPA (Border Patrol Agent or Asshole) Where you headed.
Me: None of your goddamn business
BPA: Sir, I'm just trying to do my job.
Me: (hanging out the window and pointing backwards again) "No Sir, your job is 50 miles that way".
Shenanigans ensued, supervisor had to get up off his fat ass and come out of the shack...

For a long time they would take them off the border to man the internal checkpoints and some of those assholes
didn't seem to understand that crossing an international border and traveling within the US are 2 totally
    different things..

"Sir, you aren't leaving here until you answer my questions"
"Then we are going to be sitting here for a LONG FUCKING TIME.. Am I free to go?"
Then you get into the whole.. "No you can't leave"... "Am I being detained?" "No"
"Then I'm free to go", "No you can't leave", "Then I am being detained?" "No", "Then
I'm free to go" ETC ETC ETC..

    Then of course...
"Sir, you're holding up the line, can you answer my questions?"
"I've already asked if I can go, YOU are holding up the line".

They really haven't done that shit in a long time..

For a while they got "smarter".. They are looking for coyotes and drug runners... Instead of
asking questions that would piss regular people (ME) off, they would make a bit of small talk
and look for reactions.. That worked a lot better..

Lately with much lower staffing at the checkpoints, they've been blowing people through pretty quick.. A lot
more dogs, though I'm not sure what they expect to find.. Weed in New Mexico isn't coming from the south any
more, its coming from the north, the great state of Colorado. Maybe they are looking for Coke and Meth, I have
no idea if a dog can smell that, or its just more theater.

In reality. As much as I hate Border Patrol, they are mostly just folks trying to make an honest living, and
99% of them are good folks, just like cops.. But that 1% , and that whole internal checkpoint thing just
pisses me right the fuck off.. Why the fuck do I have to go through a FEDERAL CHECKPOINT to go to the shop? I'm
an AMERICAN citizen, traveling supposedly freely throughout the United States, and I have to stop
and declare my citizenship and get questioned.. Its BULLSHIT, its like living in Nazi Germany.

If the Border Patrol was doing its job, they wouldn't need a checkpoint. And they have plenty of agents. 14
BP vehicles down here one day at Sparky's (the BBQ joint), 80 miles from the BORDER. Once in a while I catch
them sitting here in the driveway at the shop, I tell them to get the fuck out.. Sheriff, Hatch cops, Statey's, even
DOT and metro narcotics, hang out in my drive way all you want.. Border Patrol, go patrol the border,
get the fuck out of my driveway.

    Yep, I saw those cameras...

Las Cruces BP actually had well figured young lady asking the questions...

She didn't ask me anything looked & said have a nice day....

Watched the handler kick the dog...the .dog wanted to play instead of work....

The last time I went through Hatch I got the idiots in between Deming and Hatch at the portable scale...

Five years ago I got tons of questions, didn't say a damn thing just had the pissed the fuck off look.

Finally he said is there anybody else with you?

Just rolled the windows down in the excursion.....Have a nice day.....

Clear up to the top full of boxes, I was still moving down here....

a short one or a muscle head with an itty bitty penis.. You'd think you were the one that flew both planes
into the world trade centers. "where are you going" "where are you coming from" "where do you work" "where
do you live" "why are you going there" "what do you do for a living" "What is in your trunk, can I look?"
    "Is this your truck" etc....

Other than that, there are people out here with slightly darker skin, some speak a funny language and listen
to strange music and cook spicy food.. As for crime, I've had more stolen from me out here by white anglos with
European last names than anything else, by a large margin.

The last cop shot here in Hatch was by a WHITE guy from OHIO.

Bigger wall, the only thing it will change in my life is that there will be a bigger wall. If I
hated brown people and mexican food, it might make my penis feel bigger, but I think its a bunch of
bullshit. Border Patrol is literally EVERY FUCKING WHERE, and as much as I hate the internal checkpoints,
in the past 3 or 4 years they have really scaled it back and put the BORDER patrol, back ON THE BORDER. There
are now 3 or 4 "agents" at the internal checkpoints instead of 30 or 40.

White trash will still be white trash, and brown trash will still be brown trash... And quite honestly the
modest amount of illegals I've met/come across were trying to build themselves a better life, and most were
damn near killing themselves to be able to send money back to mexico or South America to help their families.
    I respect that..
IMO what you've written isn't "just" a US Mexican border issue. I don't know how many have the same experiences as me when flying. Those working with "security" must really hate their jobs to be such arrogant assholes. The handful that order rather than politely ask make life difficult for those that try to be helpful and friendly.

A carrot works much better than a stick. People travel on business or vacation. Some security folk act as if they believe they are sending people to concentration camps.

Let's say the wall gets built and the military budget is increased by the promised 25%. I wonder how many have noticed where the money is going to come from to finance both "promises"?

The money needed will neither "make America great again" or make ordinary US citizens wealthier.
Many of you are in for a very bumpy ride.

I'm not trying to be snide as I am curious. I'm assuming being as close as you are you see more Mexicans than most.
I'll have to get back to you on that. I'll just say for now, it has nothing to do with Mexicans. It has to do with Mexico, the most corrupt government of all time, next to ours, and our border. Take a trip to El Paso and tell me there isn't something seriously wrong.

OK I'll wait until you get back on that. I am curious as to how you do experience living close to a border. Especially one that is so much in the news at the moment.

I've no idea how corrupt the Mexican government is but the only South American country in the "Top 15" was Venezuela.

These Are the 15 Most Corrupt Countries in the World

As to the next link then hmmmmm????

Perhaps a Day Worker Card..(temporary work permit of sorts)... A wall of sorts.

You are required to register your address and keep record of you income. Making over $5,000 in one year you may be required to pay income and state tax. Failure to keep records and you will be deported.... Yes there will be some fudging of the numbers. But a rule will be in place.

To all business owners.. You are required to list and record any worker you pay $5,000 or more in one year,,fail and you will be fined $ 20,000 for each worker. again fudging will happen but at least we will have a rule.

*We should know who is in our country.

USA citizens have rules to follow..

Failure to report a $500 something and the IRS is knocking at your door.

Plus if you cant read the language in one year you lose your drivers licence.

My buddy Phil who was on the road a lot said.. You can tell the Mexican drivers because they slam the breaks when they see "60 mph ahead".. because they can"t read "ahead" they think "right now.".

You don't want a wall, walls are shit, they can be climbed over, dug under and just block the fucking view. There expensive and ugly. Yets be honest too, you did not realy expect trump to don his hard hat, break out the trowel and go lay some bricks in that heat did you?????

YOU want a MOAT here we call ours the English channel, keeps out all but the most determined of piss artists and has done for millennia and will for millennia to come. Here its cold enough few have ever swam from one side to the other, even if they do there not moveing fast so are a easy catch by the time they get here. Honest upstanding citizens and the odd euro MP can simply buy a nice dry boat ride or ticket across it with nice sensible security at both ends. Occasionally we get the odd bull shit from the french about letting the illegals through, which may help with there local votes, but would not really work as we just send em on back :-)

Ok so technically i spouse it can still be dug under, but it took a seriously concerted effort from both sides several decades and more than a couple of attempts!

As to internal border check points? Who ever cam up with that idea needs burying under said wall. What a retarded fix to such a simple bloody problem.

C'mon. At what speed are you driving when you have to "slam" on your brakes to get down to 60 mph?

    Give me a "break"

Mostly 70 or 75 down to 60 in a snap is sudden. Yes after he told me I have seen the same. You ask why in the world is he breaking then you see the sign.

Mostly in the USA people drive on expressways at 70 to 80 MPH.. often *83 will buy you a ticket..
Yes 55 is allowed on most X ways for the low limit,
A few states have higher limits... think Texas is 85 so it is not uncommon to go 95.. at 100 you can buy a ticket
    (95 is about 153 Klm)

Few years ago my son working at the fuel depot as the emergency mechanic said he had to learn Spanish because so many of the drivers did not speak English.

Yes he had to get a down truck started or out of the way so the line of trucks could continue.

No need to let something like that just sit there and not be used for some sort of profit. Trump could lease it to himself for a buck a year via executive order, and put Uday and Qusay down there to run it. It'd put the Panama Canal out of business in no time.

A moat would have a problem the English Channel doesn't have - distance. The Panama Canal is also only 48 miles (77km). The US Mexican border is 1,951 miles. That's a hell of a long moat and also a very long wall.

Serious question. Wouldn't a wall make life just as difficult for Americans wanting to go to Mexico as vice versa?

I went through the internal checkpoint Bob mentioned above.

I declared my citizenship as "confederate states of america" as I reside in NC. Apparently the agents have no sense of humor.

Change "send" to "sell" and I might agree.

Find out how to stop idiots buying illegal drugs and at least your import problems would be solved.
