Its a great thing for sure if you're below average.

The fly in the comparisons ointment is military budgets.....the US obviously feels they need it, the rest of us scratch our heads.....but with it present it is difficult to compare models

And the further below average, the louder the defense?

    Too much to list!

    Just a teaser:

1965 GTO, not-so-metric-system F-86 Saber, fly fishing close by my house, McCain's recent speech, local art museum, P-38 Lightning, machines we make (and USED to make).

Grumpy old right-wingers that share lots of practical machining knowledge. Left-wingers that still give a glimmer of hope in humanity.

War stories, work stories, history stories from the dying generation.

    History of music!

    Ancestry, history, freedom of religion.
..and any time you want a change, crossing a COUNTY line will provide a ration of it.

Not even essential to move across a STATE line, but that, too .. and with zero paperwork in advance, not a great deal more for a driving license and vehicle registration change, soon after...

I've posted this more than once for misguided souls so here goes again

This is where I get my thread inserts and calibration plates made. Less than ½ an hour away.

This is where I get my mass produced products from. Insert holders, pressure device parts etc. Less than 1 hour away.

The spring factory that supplies my springs is 1 hour away. Not sure where by screws come from but suspect Germany.

The reason the whole China thing started is because almost all my products are connected with the use of a digital caliper. Some customers wanted me to supply a caliper too so I did. That branched to other measuring instruments. That part accounts for less than 10% of my sales. Someone wants Mitutoyo or other top brand names I can deliver that too. BTW I not only import from China I sell to them too.

My hands and this is one of my many Youtube videos.

To elaborate a bit on this concept. Get in an airplane and fly coast to coast never filing a flight plane or talking to a controller if you wish. You maybe an anonymous blip on a radar scope but, with few limitations your route is your choice. That is freedom!!!
