Hey all, I would do some crayon drawings to entertain everyone but I figured some pics would be more illustrative. These are 6061 and the numbers on them are size in inches. The hole sizes are as follows:
Two holes on the long side are .38" with a .59" spot face .050" deep
Two holes on the triangle side are .50" centered on the part and 1" up from the base
The inside measurement is .81" and the radius is .25"
I have CAD drawings of this, but not on this computer. Hoping this is enough info for a quote. I am looking for 16 of them.
What is up with all this pm sent crap when a lot of issues need to be settled before anyone can even make an educated guess at a quote? It is to the benefit of the person posting work if their information is incomplete to have all the discrepancies hashed out by the masses before anyone quotes. This should be done here, in this thread. With the bad economy it is like vultures descending on road kill. To the OP, how about putting up some side views? Also what do you expect for tolerances? How about surface finish? It seems the desperate masses jump in to quote assuming wide open tolerances and that cosmetic perfection does not matter. For the record I have no interest in quoting.
I got some PM's on the RFQ and I appreciate you guys taking the time to send them hopefully I answered the questions you had on them. I would be happy to post more pics or info as requested. I'm not looking to beat anyone up on getting these done, just wanting to finish a long suffering project.
+/_ .010" is fine for everything but the holes which should be +/- .005, I would be fine with a #62 drill for the holes on the base and 1/2" for the holes through the sides. As far as finish goes they don't have to be anything but a machined finish. No RMS specs or anything, just that it looks presentable, I'm not going to polish them.
The base is .250" thick.
In the other picture, that's just crud on the part from sitting around. I'm pretty amazed it showed up so well in my crappy cell phone picture. I'll be finding the CAD drawing I have later today so I will get that to whomever builds the parts so we are both clear. I would have posted it up here but I've not had that computer at hand.
Thanks for the feedback KMA4444, it would also be nice if you responded when you have selected a shop and the RFQ is closed. Let us keep things professional on both ends.
Thanks all for the quotes, I think I have something worked out and am pleasantly surprised by the number and fairness of the quotes. Also thanks for not calling me an idiot when I stuck the #62 drill bit spec in my last post,,,,, yeah, I wanted a .038" hole, sure I did, wanker.
Anyway, glad I could get these done as I don't have the time to finish them myself.
