RFQ!

I need some very simple bushings made, 25.4mm OD (1") 12mm ID 12mm wide with all edges debured/broken

Material 6061-T6 Aluminum

Looking for quotes in quantities of 2000, 3000, and 5000.

If you have access to a good anodizer, also quoting a clear anodizing on these would be a plus!

This should be ideal for someone with a screw machine.

Not the answer you'll want but I use a company here in Denmark that is a specialist in that kind of work including those quantities plus anodizing.

The interesting thing could be to compare a typical offer price with one from the USA to one from the company I use.

The main reason I'm asking is that I'm pretty sure the hourly wage for a machinist here will be higher plus the company supplies all tooling to employees.

Worth a comparison?

It might be, the dollar is very strong at the moment so that could work in your favor. The cost of shipping definitely won't help though.

Of course the Danish offer would have to include shipping to get the most realistic comparison. I'm not trying to make public the best offer you get, just a general idea as to what the difference would be.

I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in just how competitive a north European country is to an American one.

It's true the dollar is strong at the moment but I'm wondering if the difference is more than a few percent as far as a competitive price goes.

Is an anodizing coating of 10µm what you are looking for. That's what I get on my aluminium bushings.

Mods should quell this while it's young

I just sent you the quote. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

I tend to agree. I have not posted a tremendous amount on PM, but have a few over on the Antique Machine and History Forum, and have been a member for a number of years. I didn't decide to start working the RFQ's till late last year.

While I like to get a job here and there, I also like to engage with the other members and contribute something.

Some of these folks appear to be totally mercenary.

I am new here. I tried to read all the rules here and there...if what I have done that bothered you please accept my apologize. I did register with my location, but I don't know why it doesn't show up.

His profile says project manager. And his interest is in " fashion"! , LOL.

Well if you call fashion watching the Victoria secret model show on tv once a year, then I think every machinist on this forum is interested in " fashion"

Hilarious, what do you expect from a guy named FENDY anyway? Better sleep with one eye open, must be french...

I'm interested in fashion to, women's fashion, but the part that interests meis the taking off of the clothes.

Not defending the guy...but I just skimmed some of the rules(and maybe I missed something, I'm still waking up). Is there a minimum post count/join date to respond to RFQs? I know if you're from India or China you should take a walk. Just wonderin........All I know is I wouldn't give a job to some bloke who just joined PM. There's plenty of guys here that I have come to know over the years and have built up a good rep. That's who would get my work.

People can tell how low you are from what you say...attacking someone you even don't know...people are so mean here!!!

Exactly my point. This site exists due to knowledgeable contributions from members on their own time.

It doesn't reflect well when you join the site and 100% of your <10 posts are (or were up until the couple posts in exasperation above) for quote submissions. Standards for selling apply to all commerce forums, perhaps tacitly.

Fendy, may I recommend a website called MFG.com? I hear it's their gig to help manufacturing companies connect with buyers.

Thanks RC Mech..I appreciate your explanation and I understand it very well now. And that's very nice of you to recommend MFG.com to me, we are already a member on that website.
