Company I work for has a big mixing plant that crapped bearings thanks to a customer that didn't understand the concept of greasing them daily and needs a couple of shafts fixed up. Shafts are approx 80 MM (3.14") where they need to be cleaned up and have had gouged portions welded in and ground halfway flat. 80MM section needs to be turned to light bearing fit and is about 2" in for about 3". We have mig/stick/tig welder and most any other support equipment you might need on site. Plant is outdoors and is about 70 feet long and 80k lbs so moving it is a pain in the ass and removing the heavy 14' long mixing shafts to turn on a non-portable lathe that will swing 24" is something I'd really like to avoid

We know that a PL2000 portable lathe will do this job and the bearings and housings and everything else will be removed for access by tomorrow afternoon. We used to have a local guy with a PL2000 that could take care of it but they don't seem to do that kind of work anymore. Trying to find out if there's any local alternatives before we pay Climax to rent one as they charge rental fee while the thing is in transit so we'll either be stuck paying big bucks for rental or big bucks for expediting a 200 lb crate between Houston area and Commerce City. We're not stuck on Climax tools just need to get the job done and know that we've had repair work like this done before by people who owned a Climax portable lathe. Shaft end can be welded on or drilled and tapped (currently cut for a center in the middle) to attach something to get this done.

We're happy to pay cash day work is performed to get this done in the next week or so.
