Thread: Blanchard grinding

I have 280 discs, 3/4 diameter, finish at 3mm thick, + or - .05 mm from 12L14. Anyone care to quote? (Callout is ground both sides)

What you are looking for is called "double disk grinding".

May not be an issue on your job, but the dbl disk units will remove same amount from both sides at the same time. This really comes into play when you want to keep a feature relatively centered, but especially when you have a case hardened part and don't want to take .010 off the tall ones on the first side before flipping over.

Sounds like a good option. I have already had two offers to quote these, one from a guy with a blanchard and another from a guy with a 6x18 G&L. I sent the PDF out, just waiting to hear back.
I will be running these on my Mazak QT15, so they will all be the same thickness when they go to the grinding shop. I'm waiting to find out how much stock to leave...
