This is a dirt simple part (parts). I bet he got 20 or more quotes. He's just delusional about the $100 price.
Figure $30 worth of material. He will need to turn over a lot of stones to find a shop that will make him 8 parts of each for $70 labor.

$45 for big part and $25 for smaller part material included

And what part of open quoting do you think benefits you?

This is my first visit to this forum as I read down and saw a posted quote. Not being here before I as a hobbist with 40 years of machine and fabrication work this looked like a cake job.I don't have any overhead and if I can make a few bucks why not?If you can work cheaper have at it.
If there is something I should know , please let me know

Open quoting creates a reverse auction, look, one guy says $70, then you say $40. Etc,etc. First the person open quoting never wins, some one will always undercut them. They are hurting themselves and all of us as they drive the price down.

when I can make $50.00 an hour making simple parts at home, and the last 40 plus years working for people that kept my pay way below fifty(this job shouldn't take three hours hand cranking).
Open bidding gives the customer and machinist who has the quickest way.Not "bid em high in case they buy" attitude.
plus or minus .010 you can do this with a hack saw.
As I said this was my first time here, and I see capitalism is not encouraged out in open.
I retract my quote openly and you all can feed your Bs to unknowing customers so they think what you do is so special.
-
WTF? Nice attitude, Gleek. I was passing on some advice and you get all bent. $50 an hour on this job? The guy wanted 16 parts, not two and someone offered to do it for $100. Nothing special about this job, anyone with a $500 scrapyard mill could do it. Since everyone and their brother can make these parts it will be a $10 an hour job, not $50.

I agree, however, IMHO, I would like to see a ballpark price the OP is shooting for. Complete waste of time for everyone to quote a particular job via PMs or whatever only to have the newbie 'buyer' shocked the parts are going to cost 10x as he thought they were worth because they looked 'easy to make'.

here we go.
8 sets for under $200
anything is possible.

$100 is a whole lot different than "under $200".

Those parts look nice, especially with the uniform edge breaks. Hope you order from the guy again and don't shop.

it's easy to get quote here
-
It's like on MFG , upload drawings, and then get many quote , not need to bargin

Some people get more enjoyment out of turning handles or running a CNC than making $$... good for them!
