I’m planning on opening a metal supply business in the greater Boston or Providence area and I’m looking for feedback about where the greatest need exists. It would be an established brand I can’t name yet that supplies a wide variety of metals and caters primarily to customers with smaller needs that the big guys don’t want to spend time servicing. My goal will be great customer service with value adds such as cut to length, shearing, punching, notching, drilling and delivery to start.
My initial research into the areas North and South of Boston and the Providence areas show that there are a few good suppliers around servicing at least part of this market but there is room for more. If you’ve experienced trying to get these smaller orders fulfilled I’d appreciate any feedback you’re willing to give and have a few specific questions:
Would you like to see this type of supplier in your area and where in MA or RI are you located?
What have you had difficulty ordering in the past?
What would most influence you to use my company over others?
