Hi All
I need to have 200 parts manufactured that have a M5x.8mm thread. Material is 304 stainless. The thread needs to have a really good finish and a accurate pitch as it is used as a lead screw.

The number of parts does not justify the purchase of a LMT Fette threading head at around $4500 including the rollers.

I have only managed to find two supplier's in Australia one has a 8 week lead time and the other has still not quoted me after 3 weeks and about 8 phone calls asking for the quote.

So if anyone has the capability or knows of someone that does please pm me.

I've tried attaching an image hopefully it works. All dimensions are in millimetres.

.05mm lead error per 300mm.

I'm not looking for a quote. I'm looking for someone who can roll a M5x.8mm thread, preferably with a LMT Fette axial head.

With that lead error tolerance you are looking at ground threads.

The vendor is going to need the pitch diameter tolerance also.

Not to pile on, but 304 is crap soft and not good for a lead screw unless you'll be using the right plastic bearings and nut to run on it. If you need stainless properties, use a hardened 17-4 stainless, the extra material cost will be small compared to the better performance.
