Is there anyone here in the chicagoland who can whip up two short 8-1/2 long "spindle shafts"? They can be made from any steel really and do not need to be hardened or ground, they are operating at low-load and low-speeds. I'm a high school student and this is not a "for profit" job, and the fab shop i have been working with has become swamped (which is a good thing for them, its better than the alternative). I made two before on their manual lathe, but my designed had to be changed and i needed a slightly longer spindle.

I need these by friday so if i can find anyone local or if anyone knows somewhere i can look , that would be great.

I can email the PDF of a drawing sheet with the dimensions, I need two of these shafts.

Thanks,
Steve
