What i love is despite its size they hang - lay just like rope would in a lot smaller size. There rope winders pretty damn cool too. Looks like its got the capacity to do even thicker also !!!!

I feel ashamed too, i have been putting off splicing some loops into the end's of some octoplait rope, after watching em winch thoes splices into that i really don't have any excuses left!

What on earth would they be lifting with humungous slings like those ?

I watched a show called raising the Aries k2 or something like that. Its the show of the US stealing a Russian submarine in the pacific. What they built for that was amazing. And still broke.

Thanks for sharing these links, I've carried very heavy Field Guns / Howitzers on 100 foot strops under helicopters but nothing like this ;-)
