Hey ya'll,
I bought a Towmotor 540S forklift. I need help finding the manufacture date.
I was told by a retired Towmotor employee that they were acquired by Caterpilar in 1968.
After the takeover Towmotors were issued Caterpilars serial number code.
The 540 model was manufactured fro 1971 to 1980.
Can anyone out there shine some light on this?
Here's my Towmotor's info ...
Model # 540S6024
Serial # 540S0386
And I found this stamped on the front near the s/n...E8 9979?
Any insite would be greatly appreciated.
