Default Another quickslant 30 question

When turning a taper from the start of a shoulder there is a short(quarter inch?) Turn then a reduction of maybe .002 and the taper starts.

This is a turn on a shaft of maybe a few inches( 3 to 15).

The taper is to get a straight turn, due to wear in the machine. In some of the programs there will be 2 tapers in 15 inches to get a uniform turn.

I have in the past used sandpaper and a file to get rid of it, but it ain't right.

I hope I am explaining this right. It is a reduced diameter then at the start of the next diameter, there is a short straight before the taper starts.

Any guesses what is wrong.

Or a good book on programing a QS30 with Mazatrol?

If I understand you correctly, you may have a "Z LAG" problem!
