Chuck open signal on QT-10

Trying to bar pull on one of the QT-10's. When I run the same program that I run on the identical machine next to it, the chuck opens with the M05, and then just sits there. It dosen't time out waiting for a signal or anything, but won't pull the bar. Both machines have air chucks. Anyone run itno this problem before?

Likely a param change to alow motion with chuck open - IF already in cycle.

Do they have proc switches on the draw tube? If both or none are active at the same time the machine will just sit there.

These machines have no draw tubes, integral air chucks.

I'm not familiar with air chucks but M05 for me is spindle stop and M06 is chuck open M07 chuck close. I'm sure you meant M06 above.
Would it be something to do with the feed being set in feed/rev instead of feed/min. If it's in feed/rev and the spindle stops and the chuck opens it would just sit and not move.
