I am looking to purchase a Mazak sqt18 ms it has the 25 hp spindle and 5hp milling motor. Does anyone know the electrical requirments for this lathe it is about a 1998 with t plus control.

Thanks in advance.

My SQT15MS is 120Amps @208 with a 20hp main spindle. A SQT 18MS shouldn't be much more than that.

Keep in mind, this is the absolute max the machine could ever draw.

I ran it on a 60A 208 breaker drilling 2 inch holes. 85% spindle load and 85% Z axis load.

How is the power supplied to you guys in the US?
In Sweden all residential gets 3x230V+Neutral and ground) (Normally 16,20 or 25A fuses) and workshops etc also gets 3x230V but higher fuses. (230V between any phase and Neutral and 400V between 2 phases)
Neutral and ground is the same cable before the distribution box and then its 2 cables)

Do you only get 1 phase + Neutral at 110V and therefore need a converter?

residential is
Edison 3 wire (single phase)
2 hot wires one neutral
220 between two hots
120 hot to to neutral

commercial is/can be 3 phase

I am envious! Dealing with the limitations of 1 phase power is at best a pain.
