Thread: FJV HP question

I'm looking at a used FJV. The machine has 30 HP max spindle (12,000 RPM).
I currently have a Phase perfect CNC 20 (20 HP) converter, that I use for my QT 200.
I have never had a problem with the Phase Perfect. I can’t see where I would be using the 30 HP accept for engraving. Is it possible the 20 will be adequate? I know I can’t run both machines at the same time.

Check what the total load of the machine is in KW. Is it 30HP continuous or 30 minutes rating(which would likely mean about a 20hp/cont?) ?
Its possible that it would run it, the PP is built to have a higher output for a few seconds in order to start a motor, which is when you'll see a real spike. It will tell you pretty quick if it can't handle it.
