loading system in Multiplex 610

Hi guys,

I just get a used Multiplex 610 year 1994 (new for me). It is in very good condition but it does not load the system. When I press the ON button the screen display the green bar on the bottom of the Mazatrol T-32 and it soppose to indicate the loading of the system going from 100% to 0%. It should take around 7 minutes to do this, but as soon as the green bar shows up disappear and I get a message MFD ERROR. I have been informed that this mean MAIN FLOPPY DISK ERROR. I checked the floppy disk on the electrical cabinet and there is a red light on the floppy drive that goes ON when I press the ON button of machine but inmediately goes OFF and appear the message.

Appreciate if somebody knows what may happens. I checked all the batteries and they are OK. All cables are tight and looks OK.

Raul, did you manage to fix the problem? Is it loading from the mfd? Is there a disk in the drive at time of error?

Sorry guys,

I have been out for long time. Machine is still down but i found that is the disk driver NEC FD 1137C. I have to replaced and then see what happens with the machine.

Those drives turn 360 RPM not the 300 RPM that most turn.
