Thread: M32B accuracy

Mazak vertical mill with m32b control does not follow the programmed profile at higher feedrates. Even at 80 inches per minute profile dims are crap. Is there a parameter that can be adjusted to improve accuracy?

Some considerations:

1. Servos need tuning

2. Worn ways

3. Worn ballscrews

4. Worn/loose ballscrew bearings

5. Programming methods leading to high angular accelerations. 80IPM on a six inch radius is fine. 80IPM on a half inch radius will lead to following error.

I am suprised more people didn't complain about that issue.... when it was brand new vtc 16c wouldnt cut around a rectangle part faster than about 25 inches per min and cut a rectangle always got screwed up at the corners... the best answer was deal with it rough fast finish slow.. i never tried in eia only mazatrol may work better in eia processor not so busy figuring tool path... anyway had the machine since new in 95 only replaced way covers and one set of gears in the head still cuts good just not real fast...

Some did complain... others worked on the machine ... then even others did nothing ...

As Doug mentioned, take a look at those things.

As not being able to cut around corners.... Should've bought the 2D Shape Contour option (G61.1).... you can go much much faster in finishing and roughing...
