We are working to transition from the Mazak floppy system to laptops with a serial interface.

Has anyone solved the problem of being able to read the floppy's on a pc?

Can you connect your Mazak floppy drive to a PC serial port or other device, and read directly?

Are there conversion services that take old floppy's and return the programs on CD?

Thanks for any input.

For about $20.00 you can get an external floppy drive with a USB connector.

It works great for old machine tools with floppy drives and new computers that don't have them. Just put the floppy in the external drive and back it up to your computer or laptop or burn a CD.

I have a customer transitioning from Mazak floppies (from a Mazak Microdisk) to laptop based, using a program that emulates the microdisk. The present process is to read the program from the microdisk on the machine, and save to the laptop.
