Mazak Nexus 510C II Probing
Hi everyone,
I've just joined this wealth of knowledge and look forward to gaining plenty of invaluable knowledge from you all!
I am after some information on automating our machining process within the Mazak Nexus 510C II Vertical machining centre.
I have been investigating some probing systems and reporting software recently, and have decided to go with an M&H Probe (replacing a renishaw) and using the M&H 3D form inspect software. This lets me pick a probing routine, which first of all calibrates itself round a ball and then probes the part and outputs the results to the print file in the contoller currently. The probing routine is sent to the controller as a standard EIA file, which is called as a sub program within Mazatrol.
My question is, Knowing where it writes the values to, how would I use these to auto update within the program to shift the datum however many microns after probing, and then be able to re machine to ensure the part is made and to size every time.
If it is easier, do I use the MMS function in Mazatrol and update within that somehow?
The M&H probe comes with many EIA probing routines of its own, such as for measuring steps etc. These are all called up within the M&H created probing routine as sub programs within the main EIA program. All complicated sorry!
I hope I've provided enough information for someone to make a suggestion!?
If not then please give me a shout and let me know!
If it is easier to email at all then thats fine also:

Thanks everyone,

Haven't used M&H in a long time as I am a Renishaw guy but I only have one question...
didn't M&H provide you with training for all of this when you bought the system? Or did you simply buy parts?
