Mazak QT8N barfeeder wiring Mazatrol T32-2

We recently purchased one old Mazak QT8N lathe, but unfortunatly did not get any manual with it.
We would like to set it up with barfeeder. There is nessesary interface for it, but we don't have wiring diagram. It would be very helpful if somebody can share this diagram with us.

Hi,

If somebody have this diagram for a different machine model, but with same control system Mazatrol T32-2, it would probably be the same.
I would be grateful for any help we get.

Barfeeder is LNS Quick Load Servo 2. But this is not very important, as for barfeeder we have all necessary information.
We only need lathe barfeeder interface pinout and relays data.

When Mazak does a barfeed interface they give you "electrical bill of material" that has all the info for your machine/bar-feed combo.

I am not sure if I understand you correct.
Probably the former owner of the machine got all the documents with the machine when he or she purchased it, but these were not passed on to us.
We purchased this machine second hand from an auction without direct contact with the former owner and we did not get any manuals or bill of material with the machine.
Machine came with barfeeder interface, but without barfeeder. Our barfeeder is purchased separately.

Mazak should still have all of the manuals for your machine
I just received the Parameters and Alarm Manuals for my 1990's Multiplex with T-Plus controls.
They were $100.00 each and worth every penny as they are the original manuals for my machine.

Yes we asked from Mazak, but in Europe it takes long time to register machine location.
Before all the paperwork we can not get any info. I don't have the patience to wait so long.

My combination is SQT250 T-Plus and SMW bar feed.

Thank you, but it's not what we are looking for.
Our machine is with Mazatrol T32 control and schemas are complety different.
The right thing should be in T32 electrical wiring manual. Probably somewhere on the end pages.

I know it is not the right thing...it was an example, my point was its not in electrical manual of your machine it is a separate booklet.

Documents that you shared "Electrical bill of material" is given by Mazak when they install barfeeder for the machine. It is specific document for your lathe and barfeeder connection details. It decribes how electrician connected it and what parts were used.
This is not what we are looking for.

We are looking for a wiring description from machine electrical wiring manual to make our owe specific connection.

Here is one example for QT10N Mazatrol T2. It is taken from Electric Wiring Diagram manual.

Got the exact same problem as you, but I have the original diagrams for both the Mazak (QTS) and the LNS, but alas the diagrams for Mazak is only for weird bar feeders that I have never heard of.

If you have the manuals you should be able to connect any barfeeder you want.
If it's too confusing you can ask an electrician to help. Experienced electrician can make the connection regardless of example that is described in the manual.

Here is the LNS bar feeder circuit from the electrical diagram manual that came with my '89 QT8N with T32-2. I know it says "T2NJ" under the control- not sure if this is an internal designation for the T32-2 or if somehow this is the incorrect diagram. But it's probably worth trying.
There are other pages for other barfeed manufacturers.

Thank you! This is the right thing that we are looking for, but unfortunatly this diagram has too little information to install magazine type barfeeder. Could you please share the whole chapter which describes barfeeder interface and all different barfeeder types?

There's not a chapter dedicated to bar feeder installation in the wiring diagram or operation/maintenance manual I have. Other than the barfeed manufacturer-specific wiring diagrams like the one I shared, there are other diagrams for NC inputs and outputs as well as the AC 100V and DC 24V circuts. What exactly is it you need? Before I spend time scanning stuff I want to make sure you're not expecting some complete guide to barfeeder integration, because that doesn't exist in the manuals I have.

Oh, also my parameters section shows R49 bit 6 for "bar feeder" and bit 7 for "roller bar feeder". So I'm assuming you will need to turn 6 on (value "1") at least. Not sure if you already had that info.

Yes there is no complete instructions how to connect bar feeder.
I have on T2 control system circuit manual. There are 10 pages which describe bar feeder interface, PC inputs/outputs for different types of bar feeders and relay circuit. These pages are all important to connect bar feeder. Information is divided between these pages.

Most important is pinout data for interface. It explains these connections on the picture.
