I just read this in my manual yesterday and did some playing around with it. The reverse cut softkey is if you want to do back turning or "reverse" turning. So if you're turning a shaft or something between centers you'd use reverse cut to turn from the back of the piece in the direction of the front of the piece.
What I'm trying to figure out, if you want to use a reverse cut, can the current rough turning tool you're using be indexed 180 degrees so that you can reverse cut with it also? Or do you need to load a separate rough turning tool that's manually indexed opposite of your forward cutting rough turning tool?
