Thread: Mazak VQC-20/40A

Were looking for some tool holders for this machine. Over the past 20 years for our VQC, there have been around 7 holders, that have broken, so now only 13 work on the machine. If anyone knows a place to look for these, please let me know.

I have a VQC 20/40 that uses cat 40 holders, they are common
you just need the right retention knob. Mine uses one that looks
like an inverted pie pan US Shoptools P/N C40-9001s.

If you mean the gripper that holds the tool holders on the carousel
I think you either need to make them or contact Mazak, mine has
a couple that broke at the flange. The original owner replaced a
couple and I think they were $200-300. I planned to make a run
at making some replacements, but haven't had any time. I thought
about modifying the broken ones and bolting a new flange to them.

Have you had problems with the spindle drive? OTTOMH I believe
mine uses a Freqrol FR-SE or SF.

When I got my machine I found that the carousel was adjusted too
high, the owners manual has a procedure for checking the correct
height.
