Thread: QT-10 Carriage adjustment

Been trying to adjust the Z-axis gibs and I'm having a time trying to get the adjustment right. I can't seem to get it tight enough without the Z thrust going way up. If I leave it even a little loose the whole thing pivots when going + to -. I'm adjusting at home pos where the least wear is, but even at that spot I can't seem to get it right. As old as this machine is the ways and gibs show little wear and it runs good, but I have always had it set a little loose which makes things tricky when doing small stuff and would like to fix it.

back the rear screw out
tighten the front till its snug then back it out an 1/8 turn maybe a smidge more
tighten the back up to hold it in place
been awile but there are a few on that saddle

if that ain't working something else is in play
