Default Repeating sequence in program ????

I've got a question on my Mazak QT15 with T32-2 control.

Let's say I've run through my program and I have a hole that the bar has sprung and I need to open that bore up a bit more. How do I repeat that sequence only, without going through the entire program.

I had asked Captdave this question earlier, and he explained it to me over the phone and I wrote the procedure down.......but got pulled away from that and my wife had inadvertently thrown away the paper that I wrote that down on, thinking it was trash.

    Hi Frank,

I have a T2, but it should be close.

    Restart button

Screen will, on postion page, give options of R or F process you want to do. EX. process F2. Press F enter 2 input and it should start at process 2 finish pass.

You will have to manually stop it after you tool has run or it will continue on through the program.

    Hope this helps.

T2 and T32 controls also have a SINGLE PROCESS button, in addition to RESTART.

Just put machine in SINGLE PROCESS mode, enter R or F (depends on your program unit and what you want to do), then UNIT NO., then Cycle Start.

SINGLE PROCESS mode also automatically turns on the coolant, whereas RESTART you have to enter an M8 after inputting your R or F and UNIT NO.

SINGLE PROCESS runs just the 1 unit you want, then turret goes back and machine stops. RESTART runs the rest of the program to the end, unless you stop it of course.

For tight tolerance bores, I usually add a spring pass to the program. This also helps to eliminate the guesswork of toolpressure when you need to open up the bore 0.0005".

Go to your program and put the cursor on the next Pno under the boring bar process (go to Pno 6 if Pno 5 is boring bar). Push right soft key and hit process copy, enter your current work number, enter, then enter Process 5, enter.

Process 5 was duplicated (now Pno 6) and rest of program is moved down one Pno number. Remove the roughing tool from new Pno 6.

This will rough bore, finish bore, and finish bore (the spring pass) everytime in program.

Again, if you only want to do this occasionally when you are setting up the job, CatMan is spot on.
