The original Y axis way telescoping type way covers on my machine are missing. We've tried using a reinforced neoprene material and some other things, but nothing seems to last very long. There are some space constraints, the column can run all the way over the end of the way, and there isn't much clearance above the way.

This is a long shot, but has anyone satisfactorily outfitted non-original way covers to their VTC, especially on the y axis? By the way, Hennig Co. made the originals and they quoted a little over $2k for both replacement covers. This is an old machine and I'm not too keen to spend it on this problem.

Hi, have you tried a tinsmith? We have some very talented people around here, no doubt you do to. Custon car shops/builders, HVAC/R shops etc... Different material? Cost sure is a big deal now, can you live with it or is swarf getting where it shouldn't? Good luck, Jon.
