    Smile Masimec's home shop

This is my little shop, all in a 10 X 16 foot garage, except for the hydraulic press, air compressor and Horizontal band saw. You can see that it's very tight!!

This is my Fexac mill with horizontal shaft installed

Now with vertical head on it

This is my Cardiff Lathe, this is a heavy one for it's size

This is my DoAll drill press and a no. 5 Arbor press

    My General horizontal band saw

    Another picture of the shop

Yuasa Dividing head and ajustable angle block

Eagle air compressor and my small 20 tons hydraulic press

    Thanks for visiting!!

Is that a ballscrew on your lathe? Can't say I've ever seen that on a manual machine.

Nice shop and nice looking parts. If it's alright to ask -- what exactly are they for?

W_Higgins: No, this is a Standard ACME screw. The first piece is an engine crank pulley, the second is an ajustable suspension kit for a race car and the third is a stainless steel shaft for a meat crusher

I especially like that suspension kit. Nice looking multi-setup pieces.

Must just be the lighting on your leadscrew. Looks like a very narrow spiral with wide lands.

    Default nice shop!

Well... You don't have to walk far. Compact use of space but no place to escape hot lathe chips. I am proud for you. Is that a chain hoist over the lathe?

Stumpwater: Yes, this is a chain hoist over the lathe. I made it to lift too heavy parts between the milling machine, lathe and the work table.

my shop is so compact that I must clean the lathe when using the milling machine! hehe

Good thing you aren't claustrophobic. Nice cozy lookin shop and equipment. Would you happen to know of a source for a hyd. cyl. w/ bleed valve like the one on your cutoff saw for the downfeed ?

Do you know where to get parts for FEXAC mill? I need a bearing for mine.
I could also use a vertical head.

Great shop, it just doesn't take long to sweep the floor.

Is that snow blowing under the door in your first photo? Hope you have good heat. Very sturdy looking machines. Nice looking mill.

220swift: I have bought Standard Timken bearings for the vertical head. I also change a set of gears, Standard too.

    HUMASMEC: merci!

flathead4: Yeah! This is snow!! Winter is cold here!

loner42: You can go at 90-730 M1 and buy remplacement parts. part #90700-20

Thanks Martin, just emailed them for a quote. Is that saw made in Canada, or just an import distributed by Canada ? I've seen Chinese or Taiwan saws that look exactly the same. Looks like you might need a porthole in your rollup door for long barstock in your lathe in the winter , Eh ?
