I am a professional knifemaker (the only fulltime maker in Denmark) and this is the workshop where I do all my work...!

first is a overview to get an idea what the room looks like...right besides me to the right is my millingmachine pictured later....

this is the heart of the shop...two shopbuildt beltgrinders where most of my work is done...the one in the front is variable speed with quickchange on the wheel so I can change between several different sizes and setups...the other is an older machine I made several years ago but recently rebuilt to fit the same quickchange system...this one is 2-speed 3.5/4HP..it will eat ANYTHING I trow at it

My newly bought millingmachine with the accesory drawers slowly but steady filling it up....to the left is my metalbandsaw.

My Boxford lathe...I got this for the whooping price of nothing....only had to pay for the freight..A good friend got two for free and gave one to me .. I need more friends like that

When making folders it is critical that everything is parallel and to excact thickness so I built this belt-surfacegrinder from an old machine..I am not sure what it is call but I didnt change much other than adding the beltgrinder and raising the head to fit the wheel..

This is the main workbench where I do all my assemply, layout etc. Samml parts and tools located at arms reach....height scribe, digital height gauge, handtools...to the left in the picture is a horisontal diskgrinder with variable spped. I use this mostly for deburring knifeblade and titanium folder frames.

this is where I do all none critical drilling (everything else is done on the mill/drill now)..this is also where I do all my tapping...ALOT of 2-56! on the tappinghead on the machine second from right.

This is a shopbuilt horizontal beltgrinder made to fit a smallwheel attachment plus all th other wheel of my other grinders. It is a slowrunning 2-speed machine.

Here is my regular diskgrinder and a very small bandsaw. The drillpress to the left has been modified to do a specialized millingoperation called shadowboxing on some of my folders.

This is the older millingmachine...it has been made "expendable" after getting my new one so I am trying to sell it...and if it does not sell it will probably be rebuilt for something else..

This is storage of everything from belts for the grinders to mammoth ivory and carbonfiber for scales....the old drillpress is used as an arbor press.

Not shown in these pictures is my dustsystem, beadblaster and a pantograph all located in the rooms next to my shop.

Here is a few excamples of the knives I make:

Anso,

You have a neat shop and you produce excellent looking knives. If you are the only knifemaker in Denmark, sounds like you have the market cornered. Was there a market for custom knives, or did you create it? You must have a good heat treater. Nice product and clear pictures. Thanks for sharing. I always like to see ideas developed and produced.

Hi Jens,

Nice shop you have there, thanks for the photo tour.

I like the way you have your Vac system set up.

The knives you make are beautiful, your love for your work shows.

Do you take your own product photos? They are very professional.

thanks,

Mark

Great shop!
I am sure I could use that old mill/drill press of yours.
Unfortunately I live too far away.

That verticle belt surface grinder is a great idea, I am sure other knife makes are jealous. You should make a product out of that, and if you do I would like to be your dealer in the US. The knives are beautiful as well.

You've got a great website - did you design it yourself? Nice work on the knives, too. They're beautiful.
