Adjusting calipers

At 1:30 in the video is the best way to adjust your calipers I have ever seen.
He's being a bit overly simplistic, probably due to the non-professional audience that's expected to view his video.

Professionals would want more precise information as to the point of support, applied pressure, etc, to ensure repeatability.

One thing is for sure. The guy in the video is definitely not Gordon...:)

I ran across that video years ago and got a good chuckle out of it.

The 'enter' key isn't working on this site so I had to post again. This reminds me of a story. Years ago when the real cheap tools started coming in I was at a customer's who I knew blew through a lot of dial indicators used for checking shafts. I sold a shock-proof indicator with a lifetime warranty against damage from a direct load. I banged the contact point on his concrete floor and showed him it still worked. He asked how much (of course) and when I told him he reached in a cabinet, pulled out an indicator he had plenty of, opened the box and threw the indicator against the wall. He said it broke but only costs him $17.00 to replace. Case closed.
