I know the 543-392B is half inch where the 543-552A is a full inch and the 543-552A has a few more digital features like a runout indicator which changes the display red if the range you set is out of spec.
But that said, would you want to chose the 543-552A over the 543-392B for accurate measuring of small parts even when the 552A is more expensive? I think the 392B has slightly better accuracy. 0.0001 vs. 0.00012 for the 552A.
