Iam looking for software to use with my Romer Cimcore 3000i Portable cmm arm i recently bought used, the main purpose of it is for reverse engineering automotive parts.

what do you use, and how user friendly is it?

Iam new to using a probing arm but willing to put in the time to learn

thanks for you input
Chris

check out rhino, you can do a 90 day trial on it and its about $1k for a seat. It can gather point clouds from Romer arm and then save it out as igs for post processing in your CAD software of choice.

Polyworks is really good for that application, if you're going to use a laser scanner (takes about 5 minutes to make a good SLA model on a smallish part, an entire car body, a bit longer). PC-DMIS is OK, but a little buggy.
