I need to measure the roughness of flanks and crest of a roll form tap.
The profilometer could not be used because of the geometry of the tap. I am trying to measure the surface roughness using the Alicona Infinte focus but it is asking me an approximate value Ra to determine the Cut off length Lc. I am using an uncoated HSS roll form tap and I dont have any reference value for roughness. Is there a way to measure physically the roughness at the crest and flank?
