The only thing I can teach you is that it's "a master" not "an master". Doesn't depend on the gender of the object it's normally "a", but "an" is used when the following word starts with a vowel (aeiou).


Been playing with scraping hard steel with the Biax tonight. It looks like a positive relief angle is best, but wears out very quickly.

Can't give you too many tips on that.
I had better results with a very acute angle between work and blade. And very little pressure! You could try it with a hand scraper, so you have a better feeling for the applied force. Also a low cutting speed seems to improve the quality. It's almost like just delicately wiping over the work, but still you remove enough material.
I didn't have much luck with a positive rake. Looks more like a neutral one is the right direction.
Maybe oil helps? I didn't try.
