Should I not stress over scratches in my used surface plate? My understanding is granite will chip so it should still be flat. Going to sweep it with an test indicator on a height gauge later this week to see if I can find any low spots. If the test indicator (0.0001") can't see any noticable changes then I'm probably fine.

A scratch without a burr should not keep you awake a night. And granite should not burr when scratched.
