Mitutoyo 112-370 carbide points or not?

My oldest catalog is 2002. Looking at this document on the Mitutoyo site and referring back to my catalog, we might be able to extrapolate that the micrometer in question likely does NOT have carbide faces.

The reason I say that is because my older catalog shows the 112-177 & 178's (which also appear on the PDF file) as being non-carbide, while the 112-189 & 190 *do* have carbide tips.

Given the grouping of the anvil and thimble part numbers in the PDF document, it might be fair to surmise that the 60º tips of a 112-370 are not in the groupings for carbide anvils nor thimbles.

The 112-370 shown now on Ebay certainly doesn't look (to my eye) as if it has carbide tips. In addition, considering the brittleness of carbides, it would be the last material you'd think anybody would use in a point micrometer. Just my 2¢ worth.

Best Regards
