Slocomb Mic Adjustment

I have an old 1" Slocomb analog mic that I'm trying to refurbish. I have lapped the faces and I need to re-zero the thimble as it is now about .0005" below zero. I have searched the web and there are some scans of the instructions, but they are too small to read. Anyone have the info that can be emailed as a PDF so as to be readable? Another problem is that what I think is the zero adjustment nut is frozen in the barrel( threaded connection) and will not move with a reasonable torque applied. It's not rust but could be congealed oil. I don't know what else it could be. It is supposed to be hard to turn so as to be self locking, but it is really frozen. I'm considering applying a bit of heat with a hot air gun. Any ideas out there? Many thanks.
