We are considering the purchase of a video inspection system and will be taking a look at the Starrett KMR 200 system. This is the first system we will be looking at. Being new to this, what should we be looking for? We hope to use it for first article inspections of 6 sided valve bodies. The parts are aluminum and machined from billet. The have numerous features on each face, O-ring grooves, drilled and reamed holes, and tapped holes. This system may be smaller than what we actually need, but we thought it would be a good place to start. How well does this type of system measure depths? I know the technology is advancing rapidly, and what was not practical two years ago is now not an issue. Thoughts?
