Trying to get my small garage shop into more accurate measuring and I'd really like to get my hands on an older Brown and Sharp Reflex or Gage2000. Ebay doesn't seem to have much in that area. They either have non-working machines, retrofits that are absurdly priced, or very nice and new machines. Not looking to sell a kidney to get one in, just curious if there are people out there that deal in used metrology equipment

I suppose this (PM) is as good a place to start as any. Somebody might know somebody that knows somebody. I think I'd trust most PM members to be honest in giving a reasonable deal.

It might be a good idea if you mentioned what you regarded as a "reasonable" price range. Save your time and anybody with something to offer.

Heh heh, Yeah, I suppose that would help :)
Looking for something sub 10k, preferably in the 5k range. A Micro-Val with a PC retrofit, in my opinion, is not worth 16k, not when I can get a brand new machine for 19-20k.
A B&S Reflex with a working controller but needing airlines, not a huge deal.
I'm friendly with the B&S maintenance guy who comes into my "day job" shop every other month to maintain our 7 machines. Based on lengthy discussions with him, these are prices he feels are appropriate, and I'd concur.

I was looking for a while and found that the CMM dealers were the worst for high prices for used machines. I patiently watched ebay and saw a few good deals show up in undesireable locations. I finally found a manual DEA machine for a good price at a tooling dealer near cleveland. Not their usual fare, they received it to resell from a regular customer who was closing. A machine dealer close to me had a good deal on a decent machine about the same time but it was too small for me. So I think searching through regualr dealers, not CMM dealers might be the best source unless you want cradle to grave handholding from the CMM specialist. Doing my own retrofit looks doable to me, I plan to put one on my DEA in the future, so buying a sound non-woking machine also sounds reasonable to me now.

So, ask him to keep an eye out for a machine for you, at some of the other customers he services; also, used machinery dealers and other regional calibration service companies may often know of (or have for sale) used metrology gear.
