I'm assuming Monarch achieved the various top speeds they offered by using different pulley size combinations?

If so, what pulley sizes were used in the various offerings??

For instance, my '57 has a 6" pulley on the spindle, and a 7" on the back gear box. I've not seen my machine under power yet, so I have no idea what top speed it has.

Thanks,

Todd,

Yes, the various maximum spindle speeds were achieved by changing the pulley sizes. IIRC, common spindle options were 2500, 3500 and 4000 RPM. Your pulleys give you about a 7:6 speed increase, so you're belted for about 2800 RPM ( 7/6 * 2400 = 2800). It's probably a 2500 RPM machine.
