24 Year Old Monarch CNC In Ford Livonia
I took a tour of the tool room in the Ford Livonia transmission plant and to my surprise I saw this sitting in the corner. Built in Dec. 1993 and still making parts. It is a Monarch Ultra-Center 2-axis with tailstock and 15" chuck. Hour meter reads 9,679 hours. It is on its last legs, but I think it served Ford well over the 24 years its been in service. One of the machines I worked on when I worked at Monarch.
