Has anyone ever seen something stamped into the ID tag field "cost installed"?

It seems someone made a bad decision way back when to include that field on an ID tag

$7128 would have bought you a very nice residence in 1937

(24N X 108 in Denver looking for offers appears UNTOUCHED in the area of the photo in its 81 years - especially on the spindle speed tag)

I've had those category of costs on my BOOKS at many firms. GAAP is to amortize inbound transport, on-site rigging-in, plus any millwright or facotry rep "commissioning costs" right in with the acquisition price.

Never-ever on the machine, just as an "asset number" so as to find it on the books. Or the reverse, come audit-time.

Monarch put it there for convenience ELSE at least one customer had need of it, ELSE a government tender specified it be there, used, useful, neither, both, or sideways.

Serious-rare to even see anything in there. Bean counters tend to not spend a lot of time out on the shop floor. Risk of assassination or such.
