Hello

First post here

The company i work for have just acquired an old DS&G lathe type 13-7 (13x42) I installed it and leveled it and started to do some testing of speeds and feed on some scrap material after running for a couple of hours at various speeds i noticed the headstock had got warm is this a problem or is it normal, it has a hydraulic tracer that is the reason we bought is.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Barrie

Many machines headstocks might be warm to the touch after running for a bit, but it shouldn't get hot right away. If it gets real hot spindle bearings might be tight.
