By shear coincidence last night I came across this operations and parts manual for a bunch of the 40's and 50's models Monarch lathes:

http://igor.chudov.com/manuals/Monarch/Monarch-SS-BB-C-CK-CU-CY-EE-K-M-N-NN-W-Lathes.pdf

I have a CY model and had spent considerable time searching for a free manual previously without finding anything that seemed like the correct era (found a manual with 30's models). Hopefully this will be useful for lots of you as this seems to cover lots of the popular models on this forum.

I was just looking for this manual last night because our junior college machine shop just received a 16 CY and I have to teach it's operation once it's hooked up. I found it in the Monarch Yahoo group files section. Thank you for posting it though.

I have a Monarch model C and have the above manual that was included when I purchased with my lathe. I will attach an Edgemont clutch parts page that was not in the PDF file.

That looks like the scan I made several years ago and posted in the Yahoo Monarchlathe group file section.
