Monarch 16 CW Gear Issue

Finally got the lathe re wired and running. I'm not sure if this is an indication of a problem but I'm looking for some advise.
When I take the lathe out of gear to turn the spindle over by hand( say to dial in a 4 jaw chuck) I can move the chuck but it takes some force. Ive seen some YouTube videos where the operator can spin the chuck with one finger.
Anyone else found this problem? Thanks, Greg

On the CW the head stock spindle bearing may have too tight of a preload on them.
Will take more force to turn if that's the case.
On the belt end of the head stock pull the cover, the nut to adjust this is easily accessed on the rear of the spindle shaft. Monarchs specs for adjusting are simple just snug enough that there is slight preload and no end play and that when in use under load no abnormal heat in the bearing.
